Preschool Staff & Classes

Each preschool teacher has exceeded the educational requirements set by Cornerstone Christian Academy. Preschool teachers earn continuing education credits through the Association of Christian Schools International and also attend 4-C (Community Coordinated Child Care) workshops. Our entire preschool staff is CPR and First Aid certified. Our preschool staff has undergone fingerprinting and background checks.

Each preschool class participates in library time, gym class, basic Spanish, and sign language skills. Field trips are also planned by each teacher, and parents are welcome to join us for these fun expeditions!

As you get to know your child’s teacher, you will find that her heart and passion is in the classroom with these little ones. Our teachers strive to offer a safe and loving environment, while preparing your child to enter primary school.

Three Year Old Class

Our three year old preschool program uses Biblical themes which incorporate music, science, art, and stories. The class has a carefully supervised and balanced program to assist children in their learning process. The Christian based A Beka curriculum is introduced to teach children phonics and numbers. Children also learn through hands-on experiences and learning centers. We welcome all children three years old that are fully toilet trained.

Favorite Bible Verse

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

One thing I want my students to never forget

I don’t want my students to ever forget that they are loved. They are loved before they even step foot into the classroom. Also, I want my students to never forget that school is fun! I want them to enjoy school and for them to want to come back each day!

Three and a Half to Four Year Old Class

Our three and a half to four year old class is designed for children who will turn four by March of the year they attend preschool. The Christian based A Beka curriculum is continued at this level, and phonics and numbers are emphasized. Fun activities are used to help motivate children to build their knowledge of the world around them. Classroom themes are used to incorporate science and art. All areas of learning are reinforced with music, finger play, and poetry.

That I love Jesus.

Favorite Bible Verse

Matthew 6:25-27, “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? “And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?

Our pre-k classes are designed for children ages four and five years old who will be entering kindergarten the following year. Using the A Beka curriculum, this class will challenge children with the concept of numbers, writing upper and lower case letters, and learning the sounds of vowels and consonants along with the ability to blend those sounds. Children also learn numerical sequence and value. Science centers, music, and art projects from the A Beka curriculum are incorporated as well. This class helps children to grow and mature as they prepare for kindergarten at Cornerstone Christian Academy.
