Curriculum

Cornerstone Christian Academy teachers aim to have their classrooms be at least one year ahead of the public schools. CCA’s Education Committee helps teachers meet that goal. Cornerstone’s Education Committee evaluates each aspect of our curriculum on a three-year-review cycle. All curriculum suggestions are thoroughly reviewed by the Education Committee to determine the potential viability to our academic program.

We also refer to our teachers as “living curriculum.” Teachers model Christ-centered living and care to their students, praying with and for them.

Cornerstone’s curriculum includes A Beka, ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), Bob Jones, Shurley Grammar, IEW (Institute of Excellence in Writing), Glencoe Math, source documents, and more. Primary students use the New International Version of the Bible for its ease of reading. Secondary students use the English Standard Version of the Bible because each word and phrase in the ESV has been carefully weighed against the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, to ensure the fullest accuracy and clarity and to avoid under-translating or overlooking any nuance of the original text.
