About Us
Cornerstone Christian Academy was founded in 1976 to provide a comprehensive, Christ-centered education presented within a classical format. A classical format recognizes that children of different age groups learn in different ways. CCA’s learning strategies vary according to the grade level, young children learn by memorization of relevant facts (grammar stage), middle aged children are encouraged to synthesize new ideas from the factual base they have in place (logic stage), and older students are expected to combine given ideas and synthesize new ideas, including the process of critiquing and correcting given concepts (rhetoric stage). Cornerstone employs this classical model in all areas of its comprehensive curriculum, which consists of reading and literature, language arts, mathematics, science, history, and foreign languages, all being presented in a biblical, Christ-centered context.
